Böschen IT Investment stands out with an investment horizon without an exit strategy
The Böschen family really is unique in every way. For three generations, they have been developing as an entrepreneurial family in different markets. With the acquisition of four IT companies in a little over a year, Böschen IT Investment hit the ground running, implementing its ambitious buy-and-build-and-hold strategy. Together with Marktlink’s dealteam, Harry Böschen and Kevin Philippen are still searching for vertical software companies and IT Managed Service Providers in the European market that want to join them.
By now, the contact between the Böschen family and Marktlink is more like a partnership, Harry and Kevin believe. “We feel very strongly about family values, we work with uncomplicated deal structures and really focus on the entrepreneur. Dealmakers Jelle Rutgers and Dave Kooij translated this story into a successful dealpack with which they succeed to convey the distinctiveness of our proposition time and again. Our goals for the future sure are ambitious, but we are definitely going to achieve them.”
Consolidation in IT and software
Jelle and Dave are also confident. “There is a high degree of consolidation going on in the IT and software sectors and at Marktlink we know exactly which companies could be interesting for Böschen IT Investment. We also find that a lot of companies are interested to join a larger investor. Last year, we have completed sales transactions with Comsenso, Infoprojects and Encaps B.V. Each of those companies had attracted an advisor of their own because their sales plans were already very concrete.”
“With an understanding of what drives us as entrepreneurs, Jelle and Dave continue to bring us into contact with the right parties. This shows that they know what goes on in the market and who to approach.”

The strength of the Böschen family is that they have very clear structures in place. “They are a mix of a strategic partner and private equity”, the dealmakers explain. As a family office vehicle for investment, Böschen IT Investment operates with an investment horizon without an exit strategy. There is immediate equity in return once they decide to buy a company. Böschen is an active investor that helps shape long-term strategies and is involved with management and company culture.
A fully-fledged part of the family business
Each company that joins Bösschen IT Investment can count on a personal meeting with Harry Böschen sr. “He has every right to be proud of the family story and wants to pass that on to all the parties that commit to the family office”, Jelle and Dave comment. “After the transaction, a company can consider itself a fully-fledged part of the family business. In the IT sector, Harry jr. plays an active part in safeguarding family interests. Kevin, on the other hand, brings a lot of experience from the IT world to the table.”
In a highly competitive acquisition landscape, Böschen and Marktlink have their work – acquiring even more companies through a buy-and-build – cut out for them. “We are convinced that we are going to succeed, together with the Marktlink team”, Harry and Kevin state confidently. “With an understanding of what drives us as entrepreneurs, Jelle and Dave continue to bring us into contact with the right parties. This shows that they know what goes on in the market and who to approach. As an extension of our team, they most definitely add value to achieving our goals.”
